Production
In June 2016, Thunder Road Films acquired the spec script for Trigger Warning written by Josh Olson and John Brancato. The movie was described as a female-led action film, similar to First Blood and John Wick. Netflix purchased the rights to the film in May 2020, with Indonesian director Mouly Surya attached to direct. Jessica Alba joined the project as the lead actress and executive producer. By September 2021, additional cast members were confirmed, and filming took place in New Mexico later that year. During production, an accident occurred when a crew member was injured by a snapped cable. Enis Rotthoff composed the film's score.

The film received mostly negative reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, only 20% of the 44 critics' reviews were positive, with an average rating of 3.4/10. The consensus on the site reads: "Trigger Warning sure packs a punch when doling out clichés and dialing up the snooze fest." Metacritic gave the film a score of 37 out of 100, based on 13 critics, indicating "generally unfavorable" reviews.
