Plot Inspiration
The movie was loosely inspired by the case of Dawn DaLuise, who was arrested but later found not guilty of plotting to murder a rival beauty expert. Filming for the movie finished before the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike. The cast was announced in June 2023, and IFC Films secured the distribution rights in June 2024.
