Plot Summary
The story is set in a fictional dystopian city-state called Khansaar, where a monarchy still exists. The movie follows the bond between Deva, an exiled prince, and Varadha, the current prince. When Varadha's father's ministers and relatives plot a coup, Varadha seeks Deva’s help to become the unchallenged ruler of Khansaar.
Production and Release
The idea for the movie originated from Prashanth Neel’s earlier film, Ugramm (2014). Initially announced in December 2020 under the title Salaar, the official title was later confirmed as Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire in July 2023. Filming started in January 2021 in locations such as Telangana, Italy, and Budapest. The production faced delays due to the pandemic, reshoots, and VFX work, leading to the movie's release in December 2023.
