What Happens in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba?

At the end of "Haseen Dillruba," Rishu (played by Vikrant Massey) is thought to have died, and Rani (played by Taapsee Pannu) barely escapes being accused of his murder. However, the twist is that it wasn't Rishu who died, but his cousin Neel, who was Rani’s former lover. Rishu kills Neel after Neel threatens them and then fakes his own death. Rishu and Rani can now be together, or so it seems.

In the sequel, Rishu and Rani are hiding in Agra, India, but they can't be seen together to avoid being caught by the police. They plan to escape to Thailand, but their plans quickly fall apart. Montu, an investigator and Rishu’s distant uncle, tracks them down with the help of Inspector Kishore, who has always believed that Rani was involved in Rishu's supposed death. To stay ahead of the police, Rani agrees to marry Abhimanyu (played by Sunny Kaushal), a kind and devoted man. As the police close in and new romantic interests arise, the question remains: will Rishu and Rani be able to escape without getting caught?
