Production

Development: The film was originally announced under the title Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam but was later renamed Bad Newz. The film was developed with a budget of ₹80 crore, including marketing costs.

Filming: Principal photography began in March 2022 and wrapped up in July 2023. One of the key songs, "Rabb Warga," was filmed in Croatia, adding a touch of exotic charm to the movie.

Release

Bad Newz was released theatrically on 19 July 2024. The film had multiple release date changes before settling on this date. The film is expected to be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in September 2024, though the exact date is yet to be announced.

Reception

Box Office: As of 15 August 2024, Bad Newz has grossed over ₹115.74 crore worldwide. The film had an opening day collection of ₹8.3 crore and earned a total of ₹44.1 crore over its first weekend.
